No, that's not the problem, but I see your point : there's no place to go if 
that was the case.

The lash screw has about 1/8" before it hits the locknut, but they move 
together because they're 'frozen' in lockstep (see other post immediately 
before this one)

Thanks for something good to know, hopefully in the distant future !
