<VV> Corvair steering box lash adjust screw can't be removed ?

I'm think just enough torque to remove the locknut - No BFH, maybe 2-3 
ft/lbs ?

Not enough to score anything, but I don't know how delicate that internal 
surface might be ?

I bought a 'crowsfoot' wrench to possibly resolve the situation until I get 
a 90 degree 1/2 wrench (apparently those are custom made in someone's garage 
?)

Yes, if you force it most likely that would hurt something.
