No shoulder belts on mine, and I only hurt my nose a little on the tele wood wheel ...

You're right though, since my Vair clipped under the T-bird and hit the 'soft' part of mine.

Previously, I had broken a slew of windshields for a variety of reasons (rocks mostly, and even a sandstorm).

My Allstate agents was less than thrilled when I told him the "bad news, good news" with the "good news" being that the windshield was unscathed but, ...

  I should add that I had only a lap belt in my '65.  My head and chest injuries might not have happened had the car had shoulder belts.
