<VV> EFI vs Carb

Catching up on my email.

OK, so what if a carbureted dragster can make more power and go faster than
a fuel injected one. WHAT REAL CORVAIR OWNER cares about driving a quarter
mile in a straight line? Road racing is where the fun and the action is at.

That being said, I haven't heard anything relating to one important and
crucial argument that favors EFI over the carburetor; Elevation/Altitude. If
you tune a carburetor at sea level, it will NOT perform optimally at any
significant higher elevation because of the thinning air without retuning.
EFI does NOT suffer from asphyxiation.

EFI is more expensive due to the components and machining modifications to
the engine. A simpler solution would appear to be the TBI (Throttle Body
Injection). And if you put the TBI carburetor in a pressurized manifold,
problem solved? Haven't done one myself, but have been pondering the
theories.

Vairy truly yours,
Rodney
