Yes, Kroil works better than WD-40 for penetrating, as Dennis says. I 
used to buy Kroil directly from the factory, but now I can find it in 
several local stores.

I have been trying the 50/50 ATF and acetone mixture also.  I can't say 
it's better than Kroil yet, but it is cheaper!
