Yes, they arn't just going to slip off. Gentle prying and tapping the rod 
bolts with a plastic hammer wil free them up. Instalation is to tap the 
center of the cap.

I want to plastigage my rod bearings but am having trouble getting the 
bearing caps off. With the nuts off I am only able to get a small gap 
between the rod and cap on the top side. What works for you folks out in VV 
Land. Happy New Year and thanks in advance. (I didn't see anything in the 
archives).
