I just found in my stash a CHT gage and sender meant for a Corvair ( it
says). It is the type that screws on to a #6 cyl head stud. Max temp reading
is about 350. Has anybody had experience with this type. I only will use it
for a guide, as this is a 140 PG I could put it in.
I know the actual head temp must be hotter.

Mike, on the #6 cyl., using a sensor in the Fan Shroud 3/8 corner bolt
hole you'll see way less than that! If it were to get to 350... that
should mean HOT!

In one car I have a HD aftermarket unit in #5... it runs 300 f most warm
days..
