<VV> Bolt Size Question

I am going to replace the rear wheel bearings on my Ultravan this year but
to do that I need to determine the bolt sizes in the universal joint
carrier.

 

The options are 1/4 inch and 5/16 inch. The vehicle is parked for the winter
and in snow and the best I can practically determine until spring arrives is
that the heads of the bolts are 7/16 inch.

 

I'm fairly certain that a 7/16 heads means the bolts are the 5/16 inch
version. Can anybody confirm that please?
