Very good system. The RED wire goes to the positive side of the coil. There it is joined by the 12 volt wire from the ignition system switch. The black wire will be the only wire on the negative side of the coil (unless you have a tachometer).

This module came with a spacer that I believe goes on after the ignition plate is mounted and the rotor then sits on top of this spacer which then places the rotor above the module.
