About the Press Coverage.

 

Local media DID cover the convention.  It was a Cedar Rapids / Iowa City station - I dont remember which one.  They interviewed a few people - one of the local papers picked it up also.  We had local people come to the Concours and Car Display due to this coverage.

 

Car Crazy, My Classic Car, Hemmings Motor News, Motor Trend, Jay Leno (Big Dog Garage), etc were contacted.  Hemmings tentatively accepted our invitation - but did not show.

 

 

Also, as for the comments about events scheduled overlapping - this has happened at every convention I have been to.  I had an angry Concours judge because they could not attend the tech session put on by Fran Schmitt, concerning the 3.1L Engine build he did.  Actually, we specifically scheduled Fred Bybee's Tech Session NOT during Concours - since it was of interest to concours participants, and scheduled Frans "not stock" session during the Concours.  Personally, I did not get to attend any of the tech sessions due to other obligations related to the convention, but would have loved to.  We apologize that all events were not independant of eachother, but with only 4.5 days to jam everything into, you run out of time.
