<VV> CORSA sour grapes and bod bashing

It always amazes me that anytime someone says anything but praise for the
Bod or CORSA that they are bashing them but however you want to twist it is
fine with me - I am not trying to win friends here so I am okay with that.
My first 5-6 years in CORSA I recruited some members although it was tough.
Many then were just like I am now - wondered what value CORSA provided for
them. As I watched the BoD in the late 90s and a few year into the new
decade, I heard the same thing "the sky is falling - we have to do
something". The problem was there was a lot of talk but very little
resolution. I stayed a member only because I felt CORSA needed me more than
I needed CORSA. They didn't need to be losing members so I kept sending my
dues every 26 months only to see a continual decline in membership and very
little action from the BoD. Today I would not encourage anyone to join
CORSA because to be honest, I see very little benefit to the average Corvair
owner. If he/she does not go to conventions or use VV, why should they stay
members ?(other than the reason I gave already) . If a owner can see no
personal benefit in being a member it is hard to convince them to fork out
$45 a year to join a club that they feel gives them less than $45 in
value. You can bash me for feeling that way but I have become hardened to
CORSA in the past 10 years and when my membership expires this year I doubt
seriously that I will renew. I beleive in jumping off a sinking ship
before it goes under. I hate it - CORSA could be a positive thing but I am
afraid teh politics of the past and what seems to be the status quo attitude
of the majority of the BoD, it will never make it.
