Whatever you decide, at least give the Iowa Corvair Enthusiasts  ( ICE  ) a 
consideration    ... a Dandy group, very active, with 50 or 90 members, 
depending on the economy (g) ....  although most members and activities tend 
to be in Eastern Iowa, there are maybe 20 members scattered in the western 
and central Iowa area.

ICE, for instance , is hosting the National Convention in about 3 months 
....   Hey, if you join the Iowa group you can get a Nationals T-Shirt (g)
