Jim, Get some peace of mind and add towing coverage on to your insurance,
its cheap. Mines an extra $12 for 6 months, well worth the security. Hope
you find the answer. On my 62 (which has a 63 wiring harness in it, the
resistance wire started to smoke in the harness along the left engine bay
harness, so I ended up removing that and wiring the system with a 12 volt
coil and Pertronix II. The Flame thrower 12 volt coils kept blowing out (2
of them) , so I went down to Schucks and got a std 12 volt universal coil
and the car runs great and I've put 1500 miles on it since with no problems.
