Distributors seem to be like gas tanks, in terms of collecting 
condensation internally -- I don't know whether it is better to try and 
seal the moisture out, OR to vent the cap so it doesn't get trapped 
inside -- old bakelite caps seem to eventually just absorb moisture into 
the plastic, and it would seem this moisture content, combined with 
debris inside the cap, is what leads to the carbon tracking cap 
failures. Only applicable to damp climates, not deserts.

Particularly noticeable when running a series of AAA "won't starts" on 
"old lady's" cars after a cold, damp Sat night and they want to go to 
church Sunday morning (first time the car has been driven in a week).
