i have found over the years (after being told this many years ago by a guy
who made and sold batteries in our town) that putting a mixture of
magnesium sulfate (Epsom salts ) in each cell helps stave off lead sulfating , the
main cause of battery death. it seems to be working for me, my batteries
are fairly old and working fine.
a couple bucks worth of Epsom salts is enough for a lot of batteries...
so try to buy batteries with caps...and check levels just like the old
days.
regards, tim colson
