When deputies arrived on scene they encountered Thomas Fincham in an intoxicated, agitated state. When Fincham spotted deputies he ran into the wood line near the residence. While deputies were attempting to talk Fincham out of the woods so that he could be checked, Fincham circle around, jumped into a deputy sheriff’s cruiser and fled the scene. Deputies immediately initiated a pursuit of the fleeing man. Fincham drove to an address of an off duty King George County deputy sheriff that he had had contact with and rammed his parked and unmanned cruiser. Fincham then left that scene and while driving on Route 218 in Stafford County, rammed a Virginia State Police vehicle that had joined in the search for Fincham. Fincham rammed a Virginia State Police vehicle a second time and then continued on Route 218 in Stafford. Stafford deputies placed a stinger across Route 218 in the area of Newton Road, flattening a front tire. With deputies in pursuit, Fincham returned to Octagon Trail where he hit a utility pole and came to rest. After a brief struggle, Fincham was taken into custody.
