<VV> Story on Brad Penn: Get your Oil

I just got off the phone with Nick Dixon, a regional Repr. for Brad Penn.
Here is the story.

When Witco decided to get out of the lubricant business, a business decision
was made and they sold the Kendall name and the Amalie brands to two
different companies; Kendall to Sunoco and Amalie to P? PAC - a lubricant
packaging company.
At that time, circa 1997, the primary refinery ARG (American Refinery Group)
was sold to the Harry Hallron(sp?) and I believe but not sure, the employees
were involved somehow to become an employee-owned company.
Approx. 18 mo later, the Kendall brand name was sold to Union 76.
About 8 mo later Conoco Phillips bought the brand Kendall.
During this time, those of us who had used the old green Kendall GT,
realized and noticed it wasn't the same oil. Many of those folks are calling
daily to ARG having seen that on the back of the Kendall GT bottle it says
Conoco Phillips.
