<VV> Kit car engine installation

All: A friend of mine has acquired for restoration a non-VW based mid-60's
kit car. It was and will be strictly street driven. It uses a EM drive
train, but there is a question bugging him.

The chassis does not have a rear (crank pulley end) engine mount. The drive
train is attached to the chassis at the bell housing and at the front of the
transaxle. Rear suspension is non-VW, non-Corvair and all suspension loads
are handled via a sub frame.

My observation is, so far as I know, all VW-based dune buggies used a
similar configuration, only with a VW transaxle. And lots of them were
driven off road where the cantilevered engine would certainly stress the
bell housing upon landing after air time.

Does anyone know of any Corvair engine and/or drive train issues with the
engine stuck out there with no visible means of support?

Thanks,
	Historically Yours,
