i have put in several viton crank seals etc with no troubles (that i know
about).
i took one motor apart last year from texas area that had one weeping kinda
heavy. i suspect it was not lubricated properly...i always lube the seal
and surface with assembly lube as i put them together.
about the used gas heater: make sure you get the little fuel regulator that
is under the vehicle . it looks like a simple weatherhead brass 3 way
fitting , but it has a spring loaded disk in it to keep pressure to the heater
at @3#. excess gas goes back to the tank thru that third line.
i think there are photos of that unit on the website
_http://www.corvair.de/n2vzd/#fc_gasheater_ (http://www.corvair.de/n2vzd/#fc_gasheater)
also take that 4 way fitting from the fuel pump...or figure another way to
supply , i used a 3 way in the left carb fuel line feed on one of my
vehicles. do your research on this project to save a lot of grief later. find an
instruction sheet , and look at the service manual. you should plan on a
rebuild kit , (not cheap!) to replace old rubber parts that harden up and
cause a fuel shutoff problem, and a small filter disk hidden under a small
brass input fitting on the burner housing (a good test of you dexterity
skills).
hope this helps.
i love my gas heaters!
regards, Tim Colson
