Well, I don't have the book - but I DID have a flat cam lobe on a car I 
bought in CA and drove to IL about 6 years ago.  Admittedly, I don't know 
what oil was in it for that 2,000ish mile trip, but the engine was 
supposedly rebuilt two years prior to my purchase.
