Quick steering arms and a small wheel on a Corvair should do wonders for your upper body strength :-)

The best driver that ever drove one of my race cars had his own steering wheel ... It looked like it came from a school bus.  He claimed the increased leverage of the large diameter steering wheel made handling more precise.
