<VV> oil pan gasket?

I haven't used oil pan or valve cover gaskets since the late 60's.   Just RTV.   
Greatest invention since the wheel.   Can't remember ever having a problem.   
The key is having both surfaces clean primarily of oil and letting it set before 
filling with oil or running the motor.   I usually wait 24 hours but overnight 
should be enough.   Also great for trans and diff covers or any non gas or high 
pressure seal.
