<VV> Mid engine buggy

Ramon, there have been a few mid-engine Corvair buggies around but they are
made by cutting the bell housing in half and turning one half 180 degrees
and welding back together. This allows the transaxle to be run upside down
making 4 speeds forward and one reverse. The 4-speed trans can run upside
down but running a PG upside down creates a whole new set of problems as the
fluid level would have no pan under it! Another problem with the upside
down transaxle is the engine would be about 3" closer to the ground if you
keep the centerline of axles where they were.
I have run many rear engine Corvair buggies in the sand dunes and they are a
blast. You jack up the rear suspension and run big tires for more ground
clearance. Picture attached (with my son in buggy).
