Are you folks aware that the same people did the same thing to the original Jeep?

They reported that the CJ series was prone to tipovers and that forced AMC to cancel the CJ5 and CJ7 in 1976.  They replaced it with the less reliable XJ series Wrangler.  Later it was proven that the servos used to tip the vehicles were duplicating forces no human could ever generate (from Collectible Automobile 1986).

I think it was Wallace who later said it was "sacriligious" to malign the vehicle that won World War II, but the damage was done.

Any vehicle in the wrong hands becomes a weapon.  I can drive the same car for 30 years and not have a problem, whereas someone else trashes it in a day because they don't know how to drive it...Bill Hershkowitz 66 Monza 110 PG
