I want to thank everyone who offered advice for my questions about compression check, and valve adjustment , trying to get my "61"? "64" ? rampy going again after a "re-seal"  and clutch job. I followed all of that advice, and just came back from a first test drive. It ran very well,  It turned out that a lot of my problems were with the carburetors that I rebuilt and too tight initial valve adjustment.. I replaced the new style all metal needle & seat that I used in one with a new conventional set(old style), and reinstalled a spring on one.  In the process, I took out the Pertronix II that I first used and replaced it with standard points. ( that didn't help) So I will now re-install the electronic ignition .
