Earlier this week I added some photo's Dennis Dorogi sent me for updates on
the progress on the restoration of the Carl Sagan Spyder.

Saturday Joe Pendolino and myself took a road trip down to Dennis's place to
see for ourselves this project.

Yes, even more photos!

Last time I posted the link, there were over 12,000 views!

I now have over 110,000 views to this album, seriously way more than any
other of my webshots albums.

Looks like there is a bit of interest in this project!

There are so many photos in this album, for updates go to the end and work
your way back.

I also included some pictures of Dennis's workshop.

He has a great layout of equipment for restoration, but the actual work area
for the car itself is very cramped, one of the reasons why it is difficult
to photograph more than a small portion of the car. I can say, from what I
have seen, this car is going to be 100 times cleaner than when Carl Sagan
bought it new!

The factory just did not spend as much time to detail as Dennis has done
with this one.

Everywhere I looked, there were parts and pieces ready to be re-installed.

In my days, I have stripped down many Corvairs, down to the bare components,
just in case I needed a part in the future.

But these pieces have been relegated to boxes and storage as a "as needed"
replacement.

Once I dis-assembled a 67 Dodge for a (pretty much) total restoration.

But I feel so much an amateur as compared to what Dennis does here.

There's a lot of pieces that make up a car!

Getting back to Dennis.

Hanging from the ceiling of his shop are hand built and built from plans
airplane models

He also showed us some of the Dulcimers he has built.

.A musical instrument of the finest quality.

And this is the attention to detail going into this Sagan Spyder.

Also some pictures of his 65 4-door Corvair
