<VV> mystery rear brake noise, need help

My '62 wagon has always had a grinding noise from the rear brakes and 
everything seems fine otherwise so I guess that it;s just the way it is and 
it;s been doing it for years.  New linings may well fix it but it's not 
needed otherwise so I leave well enough alone.
