My Opinion -- and that is not some sort of new fangled final drive gear --

The best tire gauge, short of $1500, is the cheapest one that gives you 
pressures you like to drive with -- often given away (Free) at tire 
stores.  If you have to depend on a gauge to know how your car drives, 
or whether your tires are flat, get a skateboard or solid tire wheel 
chair.  Apologies to anyone who actually requires a chair.
