I'll vote with Ron on this ... I think the issue is fuel pump/delivery related.
I dropped the tunnel pan on my 65 Corsa yesterday for hunting down a
squeak in the clutch linkage, and forgot to reconnect the ground wire
connected to a pan bolt to my electric fuel pump. The result was ~ 2
minutes of idling, then it died from lack of fuel ... (slaps head)
DOH!
