Paul - many plastic products, where the bottle is intended for re-cycling, have a triangle cast into the material, usually on the bottom of the bottle. Sometimes there is a code in the middle of the triangle. That code may tell us what type of plastic was used to make the bottle. if there something like that on the Windex bottle? Once you know that, it might be easier to find something that will attack it. - Seth

I inadvertently left a bottle of Windex in the engine compartment and it leaned against an exhaust header.  It was noticed after a 20 minute drive.  I now have a patch of melted plastic that I'd like to remove without damaging the header which is Jet-Hot coated.
