I find it difficult to capture the week without turning emotional. And,
for me, that's different. I saw people on our team going above and beyond
all week, exceeding my expectations. Everyone on our Team deserves and a
huge pat-on-the-back and more. Putting up with convention surprises,
demanding guests, heat, sweat, more heat,
and continuous phone calls was not easy. I feel indebted to our Team. I am
so proud of you and what you all did. Without you I could have been
hung-out to dry.
Without going into details, I believe we provided an extremely
successful CORSA Convention. With limited resources, an excellent Plan and
a core group of hard working people, I feel WMCC pulled-off of a
miracle. To our guests, it appeared smooth and trouble-free. To CORSA, it
was hassle-free. I was told they were impressed as evidenced by a happy
Harry. I even managed to crack a smile on Mike's face. Larry thought it
was a great convention. It was well attended, we'll all make money and
there were very few complaints - a winning combination.
In the end, I believe we stayed focused on and accomplished our mission:
"WMCC is a group of dedicated and experienced enthusiasts who will
coordinate and conduct an exceptional Convention that will be enjoyable for
the entire family, valuable for CORSA and the Corvair movement, and
guaranteed to be memorable".
I know I was a task-master at times and pushed some people to get things
done/planned. I apologize if anyone thought I was being to much. Looking
back, I believe it paid off. Until we have our Post-Convention
get-to-gether I'll simply say ... I am confident that WMCC is held in high
regard by the Corvair community.
