Jay, You are mixing apples and oranges so to speak. Dropped  seats are the 
result of the aluminum heads losing their hardness due to normal  effects of 
time and temperature. This is the nature of aluminum. 
 
Besides, nobody ever said that the factory cooling system was  "so good". 
It is designed to achieve a minimum running temperature for the  engine and 
after that the running temperature is allowed to vary considerably  usually 
due to ambient temperatures and demands on the engine. There is no  design 
maximum operating temperature of the engine. It is up to the operator to  
limit this temperature by design. The operator does get some warning signals but 
 he is in control.
