Steve,

Harp Hill Road is in Frederick County, Maryland about the mid point between Hagerstown and Frederick on Interstate 70. Get off 70 at Myersville (exit 42). Take MD Route 17 east (Wolfsville Road) from Myersville, cross Route 40 and continue to the crossroads at Ellerton (there should still be an antique steam tractor there). Harp Hill Road begins in Ellerton and ends in Wolfsville, MD. Driving up the hill from Ellerton to Wolfsville will give you a feel for it. Coming down the hill will give you a real test of your brakes. I'd be at or below the speed limit BEFORE you start back down the hill. The road has lots of hummocks, dips and curves--and plenty of big trees and steep hills (up and down) on either side. A distant uncle gave me my first taste in his Lotus decades ago (he was unique--nobody in my family knew what a Lotus was--except me; probably why he gave me the ride). Remember how unforgiving physics are. Let me know if you visit and maybe we can meet.

Bob

Where is this? Just direct me from either Interstates 68, 70, or 81. Western Md is only about 4 hours away.

I am compiling a list of places to go with my Corsa when I get it running (got a new job so I can afford to now). Living on Long Island whenever I want to test drive a car I drive it to Binhamton NY then Scranton, Pa then home. I 87 to future I-86 to I-81 then I-380 and I-80. Sometimes I take a shortcut on I-84. Getting across the New York metropolitan area is test drive enough for any car.

(For those of you in Western Maryland a trip down Harp Hill Road without fade is as good a test for brakes as any).
