<VV> Reverse grind cam

I wrote the other week about a friend who is working on an engine to go
into a VW bus (4-speed).  He has torn the engine down, and finds the cam
is marked 50.50.C.  Can anyone identify this cam and will it be suitable
for use in the VW bus?  I think a torquey cam would be better than a high
performance cam in this application.
