That was my point - 

As long as we're splitting hairs :

The '65 was non-synchro in 1st, and the '66 was synchro in all 3 gears,
right?

So the '65 and '66-'69 WERE different and the GL-4 vs. GL-5 discussion did
not make this distinction, or at least I failed to miss the one that did,
among a gazillion others?

Most every GM 3 speed transmission from the early 30s to 1965 has synchros
in second and third gear. It is first gear that is not synchronized.
