Just replace it with GL4 and walk away. Unless you were abusing it, you
could probably drive 1500 miles over 18 years with Wesson oil in it! - Seth

A long time ago, I installed GL5 into my 1964 Spyder, and until this
subject came up, I never knew that it was wrong. To give you an idea of how
long ago, it was when the National Convention was held in Lake Placid New
York. I haven't driven the car that much, probably no more than 1500 miles
since that meet, and although I have found it stiff shifting into second gear,
I don't know if I have damaged the transmission. I intend to remove it
and replace with GL4 90 weight. What is your opinion, did I do damage, and
if so, how difficult is it to replace the synchronizers?
