If you want even a basic stereo with an amp, 37 Amps with the lights on,
stereo on, heat on---you can't see the road---HL's too dim.
80 Amp Alt----everything's normal. the Stock amp was for non-halogen HL's,
POS AM radio, no extra speakers or amplifier, fog lights, etc.
My alternator is an off the shelf 1979 Impala IR alt with a Corvair Face and
fan. Still has the 2 wire Delcotron, just a different shape than stock.
Hard to find decent replacement External Voltage Regulators. If you're
running stock. stay stock.

If it were my UltravanŠI'd use the 74 Amp. Alternator and triple battery
capacity.
