<VV> 3-speeds : synchro or grinder?

Were all 3-speeds synchro, or just from '66 onward?

I'm pretty sure that the '65 was a grinder, but thought I had heard that GM
made the 3-speed synchro starting in '66?

That may be why some 3-speed owners are happy with them, but are '65 3-speed
owners as happy as 66'ers are?

Call me odd (most people do), but I've always preferred the 66 and on
3-speed for a daily commuter driver. I'm not sure why. Certainly the 4-speed
is better for more spirited driving with its better ratios. Does anyone have
a convertible with a 3-speed? It seems that everyone replaces a 3-speed as
soon as they can. I'm just wondering how many cars still have their
3-speeds.
