Jerry,
Your late model likely suffers from the problem most other late models
suffer from. It's not an easy fix, but it can be remedied. If you get on
your back and look under your dash towards the base of your windshield,
you're likely to find about a half inch gap between two pieces of metal that
look like they are supposed to be connected. In my case, I had a tell tale
sign left by the PO..... a whole tube of silicone caulking stuffed up
between the seams. Last one I fixed by tearing everything our of the dash,
along with the seats and carpeting, so that I could weld in patch material.
Prior to that it was fiberglass. I think the next one will be glass Matt
soaked in POR-15. It's about the worst area I've found to fix on a late
model. Dash, radio, glove box & carpeting have to come out to get access to
the area, and it's still not easy.
