Yes, the backing plate stays with the hub.
The hub will come out with the inner flange attached.
I made some pliers to remove the e-brake cable with a short piece of pipe split in two with one half welded to each jaw.

Well I need some advice on how to remove rear wheel hubs? Looks like rear brake backing plate has to be removed as a unit. what do I plug the brake line with to prevent fluid loss? Does inner u-joint flange have to come off before removing unit from car? Any other advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
