Tim did you check with the guys at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Broken Arrow, OK? Website ACDfactory.com. They sell parts. By the way the Museum was a featured tour at the 2010 Great Plains Corvair Round Up in Tulsa, long before the Pickers visited the place. Moore

One other thing -- check the engine timing.  Too much retard and it will
overheat.  (Too much advance and you'll hear the pinging.)  Could be that
either the points or distributor itself has shifted position a bit.

I had the same problem with my PG dipstick. I saw "high spots" worn? on the edge down by the bend? . So I ground a small amount off the edges for a few inches and polished it on the wire wheel. Now very smooth operation.
