Karl: The week before the CORSA Convention one of the biggest vintage races
in N. America takes place at Road America, a couple hours north of Chicago
in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin. If you are up in that neighborhood, the EAA
museum is not far away in Oshkosh. Very interesting. Years ago I had a
ride in their Ford Tri-motor which is 19 years older than I am. Over on the
Lake Michigan shore, I think at Manitowoc, there is also a Nautical Museum
with a WWII American submarine. I've have thought about going to the
Museum of Science and Industry on Chicago's lake front, going thru the
German U-505 housed there, and then go up the lake shore to the American
sub. I do not fit well in either of them!

You are asking about the DuPage county airport. Been by it many times.
Think it is used for business and general aviation. I'm sure one of our
Chicago natives can give you better directions than I for car travel from
O'Hare than St. Charles. I know to go south from O'Hare on a surface
street, and turn right on North Ave when you find it! I do a lot of
navigating in Chicago by tall buildings, which Interstate I'm on and by the
sun and stars! Good place to visit, way to much traffic and people for me
to stay very long. Hope to see you there!

Subject: <VV> 2019 CORSA CONVENTION

G'day everyone,
I have booked my hotel room at the host hotel for this years CORSA
convention and I am planning to arrive on Monday July 22 and depart Saturday
July 27.

Australias Qantas international airline will take me from from my home in
Australia to Los Angeles in the United States and then on to Chicago
international airport.

I wondered if anyone can offer me any advice as to the best method of
getting from O'hare Airport in Chicago to the host convention hotel?

Looking at Google there appears to be a small airport right next door to the
Pheasant Run Resort hotel where the convention is being held, but I can?t
determine if this small airport has scheduled passenger airline services or
if it services only general aviation?

In addition to the above, I would be happy to depart Australia earlier, say
2 weeks before the convention starts or alternatively stay in the USA a few
weeks after the convention finishes if there were other classic car events
that could be worth attending. Swap meets in particular interest me but also
other events happening in the USA during July / August.

Any advice or assistance would be very much appreciated.
Regards to all from down under
