Brian, 

I bought the Clark’s Electric Fuel Pump and installed it on my 65 CORSA Turbo and I installed the same system on my brothers 64 110/4 speed.  I used the block out plate so both engine compartments look stock. I just used the Inertia cut off switch and not the low oil switch, for a cleaner installation.  I MOUNTED the pump next to the fuel tank below the car. There is a perfect place for it on the left side of the car. It’s better for the pump to push the fuel to the engine compartment instead of sucking it.  

The main reason GM did not use a lot of Rubber hoses in the engine compartment. If the Drive Belt brakes and cuts one of those rubber hoses you could have a FIRE.
