Dave,

There are Lacquer Thinners that slow the drying, allowing better flow.
Also, an old Body Shop trick I witnessed in the 50s, heat the lacquer, it
flows out like enamel.

Was told by this old-timer I saw doing this, that GM heated the lacquer used
in production painting.
