Thanks fo Joe and Ned and others for the ideas. The
hint about the rear track cockingt the window is a
major clue. That just might be the answer to my 'vert
quarter window.
 On my sedan, I once replaced the front rubber but it
made the window so stiff, I replaced the old busted
channel. And it was back to square one. Later I found
the coil spring in the lifter had broken, so I
repaired it. Back to square one. Right now, the
driver's window is a only little snaggy in dry
weather. When rainy season is over, I'll loosen the
rear track and perhaps cure the problem.  

   But by then, it's not raining, so who cares if the
window is only a little sticky?
