Remember to put a little lube on the contact pads of the backing plate when doing the brake job. Not so much though that it gets on the linings. Also want to run the automatic adjuster in enough for the new (and thicker) linings so the drum will go on. but don't run it in so far that it takes forever for the car to finish the job or you won't have a good pedal feel for a while. If you want to go professional there is a special adjustment tool that measures the drum I.D. and the linings are then adjusted out to the tool. The tool will set in the 0.015" clearance the lining should have between it and the drum. Be sure the adjuster turns freely before installing. They also come from the factory lubed. Note that the Corvair system adjusts when a reverse stop is made. Jim Stukenborg
