What is the experience of other VVers with crankcase wear at the cam bearing
area?

Way back in the 1970s when I was rebuilding so many Corvair engines, I was
finding that nearly every crankcase had the cam bearings worn to the max limit
of the spec. I never had to actually reject a case, but even then the wear
was at the max limits. So by now I would expect to find most cases out of spec.
