Craig sez:
Yes, but the size doesn't really affect things.  All the fuel to run the
engine comes from the "main well" under the venturi cluster.  The main well
gets filled from the main jet in the bottom of the bowl but any size main
jet flows the required fuel without posing much restriction.  BTW, the
original jets for a '69 were .052" but you can probably go down to 49/50
without a problem. You should install an AFR gauge (at least temporarily) to
make sure that you aren't going much leaner than 15:1, above which
combustion temperature (and production of NOX) skyrockets.
