<VV> Bulbs burn out quickly?

OK.... With the help of Ron, I re-thunk this.

12V is 12V, no matter how you slice it. So even if the wires to the
tail/turn/stop 1157 bulb were reversed, that would not cause the bulbs to
burn out prematurely - even if they were lighting at the wrong time due to
poor grounds elsewhere. Sorry pab, I probably had you chasing a gremlin
that is not there.

However, an over voltage situation would/could cause premature failure. So,
it would seem that the regulator needs adjustment or replacement. This
might ALSO be the reason for no dash lights - they are all burned out. The
instrument lighting bulbs are (I think) #1895.

THIS PART IS JUST WRONG... Too long of a day yesterday and was not thinking
clearly.

It sort of acts sort of like a slo-blow fuse if it is supplying power to
other places - beyond it's capacity to do so. This would be an indicator of
one or more bad grounds SOMEPLACE. The current is using the filament in
that situation as a path to ground.

This is not to say that this is the problem that pab is experiencing,
possible but I don't think probable.
