<VV> japanese cars

Japanese transplants use more and more domestically sourced parts every
year.

For all the grousing about them, nothing is, or should, change.
Protectionism is one of the things that drove us into the Great
Depression. Complaining about someone who has succeeded because they
succeeded isn't going to change the behaviour of those who are
struggling. The issues with Detroit are PURELY Detroit's fault. And
only theirs to fix.

And yeah, should go to VV Talk...

We should move this subject to vv talk ...

Their US operations are assembly only ... they get a better
[by their audits] product here and for less money because
it eliminates all import taxes.

Just a couple of years ago 100% of their parts were shipped
in ... I have no reason to believe that has changed.

How many remember that while our government is
hammering our industries with taxes the Japanese
government is subsidizing their corporations? Is that fair?
